Product Description
The Tasco 11TR telescope is a vintage, general-purpose reflector telescope designed for viewing deep sky objects. Tasco 11TR telescope features a 114mm (4.5″) parabolic mirror and a 900mm (35.4″) focal length, producing sharp images of celestial bodies. Tasco 11TR telescope comes equipped with 20mm and 10mm eyepieces, a red dot finder, and an equatorial mount with slow motion controls for easy object tracking. Tasco 11TR telescope offers excellent value for astronomy beginners on a budget, providing good viewing experiences despite its older design. Tasco 11TR telescope is small, portable, and includes a carrying case, making it easy to set up and use for night sky observations.
Should you buy Tasco 11TR as your first telescope?
We do not recommend buying the Tasco 11TR as your first telescope. Small refractors are better suited for beginners due to their ease of use and forgiving nature. The Tasco 11TR is labeled a “toy telescope” due to its low price point and lightweight construction. The 114mm aperture and 1000mm focal length provide decent optical performance, but the glass optics may not deliver the best clarity. The manual equatorial mount helps users learn tracking skills, but the 1.9 arcsecond resolution limit restricts detailed views. Serious astronomy enthusiasts should consider medium-clarity options with better optics and features. The Tasco 11TR is suitable for learning basics and casual observing, but users will likely want to buy a better telescope in the long run for improved image quality and a more satisfying viewing experience.
Is Tasco 11×40 Riflescope easy to use?
Tasco 11×40 Riflescope is easy to use for shooters of all skill levels. Tasco scopes perform well in various conditions, offering clear views even in low light. The reticle facilitates quick and accurate target acquisition. Shooters can aim at targets swiftly and precisely. Tasco scopes are designed with features that simplify the shooting process. The clarity of Tasco scopes is noteworthy, providing a clear view of surroundings and targets. Tasco scopes are known for their ease of use and clear optics, making them accessible to beginners and experienced shooters alike.
Should you buy Tasco 11 TR Riflescope for kids?
The Tasco 11 TR Riflescope is not suitable for kids. Tasco 11 TR is a riflescope designed for hunting situations, not for astronomical observations. A more appropriate option for children interested in astronomy is the Tasco Galaxsee telescope. Tasco Galaxsee is a vintage telescope with good optics for its cheap price. The telescope requires some tinkering and assembly. Tasco Galaxsee performs well as a starter scope for observing the Moon, planets, and brighter deep-sky objects. The manual equatorial mount demands learning to use manual controls for tracking celestial objects. Tasco Galaxsee provides a fun experience for kids to explore the night sky and learn about astronomy. The telescope’s suitability depends on the child’s age, skill level, and expectations.
What can you see with Tasco 11X TR Riflescope?
The things you can see with Tasco 11X TR Riflescope are listed below.
- The Tasco 11X TR Riflescope is not designed for celestial observation. It is intended for terrestrial use, such as viewing distant landmarks, wildlife, and shooting targets. Therefore, it is not suitable for viewing celestial objects.
Should you buy Tasco 11X TR Riflescope to observe planets?
The Tasco 11X TR Riflescope is not recommended for observing planets. Tasco scopes were originally designed for hunting, not astronomical observation. Many users reported Tasco scopes as “junk” for astronomical use due to weak mounts and poor optical quality. Reflector telescopes provide better planetary views with larger apertures and longer focal lengths. The Tasco 11X TR Riflescope lacks the necessary features and stability for clear planetary observation. Astronomers require larger apertures, longer focal lengths, and stable mounts for effective celestial object tracking. The Tasco Galaxsee reflector telescope is more suitable for planetary observation with its improved optical quality and design specific to astronomy.
Should you buy Tasco 11X TR Riflescope to observe galaxies?
The Tasco 11X TR Riflescope is not recommended for observing galaxies. Tasco scopes have a poor reputation among astronomy enthusiasts. Observing galaxies requires a telescope with good aperture, focal length, and optical quality. Riflescopes are designed for terrestrial use, not astronomy. Telescopes are specifically built for astronomical observations. Low magnification of 50-100x is ideal for galaxy viewing. The Tasco 11X TR Riflescope’s fixed 11x magnification is inadequate for deep-space objects. Optical clarity is crucial for astronomy. Tasco’s quality is questionable at best. Astronomy demands specialized equipment. A proper telescope with larger aperture and better optics resolves faint light from distant galaxies. Investing in a quality telescope designed for astronomy will yield better results than wasting money on a Tasco scope.
Should you buy Tasco 11×40 TR Riflescope for astrophotography?
The Tasco 11×40 TR Riflescope should not be purchased for astrophotography. Tasco scopes are designed for hunting and outdoor activities, not celestial observation. The optics and magnification capabilities are insufficient for capturing high-quality images of celestial objects. Visuals through this scope are poor for astronomical purposes. Eyepieces are essentially useless for observing faint or distant objects in space. Realistic magnification falls short of astrophotography requirements. The scope lacks necessary features for precise tracking and imaging of celestial bodies. We recommend exploring other options specifically designed for astrophotography to avoid disappointment and achieve better results.
Is Tasco Model 11TR portable?
The Tasco Model 11TR is moderately portable. The telescope weighs 12 kg and features a metal construction with a steel tube and cast metal frame. Users can remove the telescope from its mount for easier transportation. Some enthusiasts have created custom portable bases using 2x4s to enhance mobility. The tripod’s height range of 63-90 cm and leg diameter of 25 mm provide stability but add to the overall weight. The manual equatorial mount lacks motors and requires manual adjustments, making frequent relocations less convenient. The telescope’s durability allows for use in various observing locations despite its weight.

Tasco 11TR 11×32 binoculars offer a significant technological leap forward. Optically, the telescope isn’t top-notch. Images become unstable at higher magnifications. Digital controls were hard to navigate initially. Practice helped me learn them relatively easily. Variable speed motor is a nice feature, though finicky at times. I had to adjust it multiple times to get the desired speed. Astronomical views are the main attraction. Moon and planet views were beautiful. The scale of the night sky blew me away. Taking the telescope on a trail hike was challenging. Setup was difficult, but the views were worth the effort. Buyers shouldn’t expect a top-of-the-line product.

The Tasco 11x40mm rifle scope still works like a charm. Tasco 11×40 riflescope has been an amazing addition to my stargazing adventures. Optics are surprisingly good. I’ve seen the red hues of Mars and rings of Saturn. Equatorial mount is sturdy and easy to use. Manual controls take time to get used to.

Setting it up was quite hard, with unclear instructions. Fiddling with it took a while to get right. Once properly set up, the camera works well. It’s captured amazing shots of deer and birds on my property trail.

The Tasco 11TR 114mm reflector telescope has impressed me with its performance. Image quality is surprisingly good for an entry-level telescope. The compact size of the Tasco 11TR 4.5″ Newtonian reflector telescope is a plus.

Tasco 11TR 11×40 binoculars offer good image quality, not great, but definitely good enough for what I need. The Tasco 11x40mm Porro prism binoculars have held up well for both target shooting and hunting. They’re not high-end, but make a nice entry-level option. I’ve had similar scopes before, and these are just as good, if not better. The illuminated reticle is a nice additional feature. Tasco 11 power binoculars aren’t bloody fantastic, but they’re a good starting point for newbies.

Tasco isn’t a high-end brand, but I’ve been pleasantly surprised by this scope’s performance. The laser etched reticle is really nice and easy to see in low light conditions. I’ve used it for hunting and target shooting with great results. It still holds zero after all these years, which is impressive. The eye relief is a bit short, requiring you to get close for a wide view. You get used to it quickly though. The compact design doesn’t add much bulk to my rifle. It looks and feels like new even after two decades. I’ve tried other scopes but always come back to this one.

The Tasco 11x32mm binoculars fit the bill perfectly. Tasco 11TR binoculars are compact and portable, great for camping or storing in the backyard. Image quality can be poor on cloudy nights. Focusing is slow, requiring some trial and error to get clear star views. Views are beautiful once focused, inspiring awe at the vastness of space. Using these binoculars brings back nostalgic memories of stargazing with my grandfather.

The Tasco 11x40mm 11TR has exceeded my expectations. Tasco 11×40 rifle scope’s variable power setting is very convenient. Magnification adjusts from 3-9x. Image quality is great, providing a clear and optically sharp picture even in low light.
Derek Johnson (verified owner) –
The Tasco 11×32 optics exceeded my expectations. Tasco 11x32mm 11TR binoculars are compact and lightweight, making them easy to set up and transport. The laser dot finder is a standout feature, incredibly helpful for aligning the telescope. Spotting the moon and planets was a breeze. Image quality surprised me with its clarity. Focusing can be slow, especially in cloudy conditions. Still managed to get great views of the night sky. The parabolic mirror does an excellent job gathering light and producing clear images. I’ve had similar, more expensive telescopes in the past. Tasco 11TR holds its own against pricier options. Not perfect, but a big step up from other cheap telescopes.
